On the horizon

A low tide walk and LFS visits & tank crawl is proposed in Townsville on the weekend of the 7-8 August. For more information on this event, contact info@masrq.org.

Townsville members are also fairly active and hold informal get-togethers every couple of months - members gather at someones house to admire and talk tanks.

2009 AGM at Mackay

The 2009 AGM was held at Mackay on 24 October. As well as the official meeting, there was discussions on group buys, and a visit to Corals Downunder (depending on time constraints) and a large Mackay petstore. See the member's area for the minutes of this meeting.

2008 AGM at Bagal Beach

The 2008 AGM was at Christian's Place, Bagal Beach (North of Townsville) on Saturday 2 August. Along with the more formal meeting process, attendees enjoyed a tour thorugh Christian's fish breeding facility, and a hands-on demonstration by Nick on the finer points of dividing coral. BBQ at Mark's

An early November 2007 BBQ at Townsville was held at Mark's place. Attendees got to oggle the beautiful wall tank, check out some of the "behind the scenes" gear that keep it running smoothly and chat about all things marine. Many thanks to Mark for hosting this event.

2007 AGM at Bowen

Our inaugural AGM was held at Lesley's place at Bowen on 6 October 2007. After the formal meeting, members enjoyed a social BBQ. Some attendees also went for an afternoon snorkel, but were a bit disappointed by the extent of coral bleaching at the beach visited.
